Snapshot of Pack Meeting
This meeting resource is for the Pack Team Building meeting. This pack meeting should be focused on welcoming new families to the pack while promoting fun and teamwork. The goal of this meeting is participation and discovery, not competition or advancement. All Cub Scouts and adults are encouraged to join in, no matter their experience level—everyone has something to share and something new to learn!
During pack games and activities, note adults who show enthusiasm, leadership, or special skills that could benefit the Pack. These moments of teamwork and interaction often reveal parents and guardians who are eager to get involved—whether by helping with future events, supporting a den, or taking on a leadership role within the Pack.
Safety Moment
Prior to any activity, use the Scouting America SAFE Checklist to ensure the safety of all those involved.
All participants in official Scouting America activities should become familiar with the Guide to Safe Scouting and applicable program literature or manuals.
Be aware of state or local government regulations that supersede Scouting America practices, policies, and guidelines.

Before the Meeting
The team building pack meeting is meant to be a fun opportunity for families to get to know each other. This meeting may include new families who are unfamiliar with Cub Scouts. Reminders and open communication can create a welcoming environment for these new families.
Communication
- 30 days before the meeting, confirm access to the meeting location.
- Coordinate with your local council and school district to distribute information about the meeting
- Include date, time, location, and contact information for questions.

At the Pack committee or parents’ meeting before the Pack Meeting, make assignments using the Pack Meeting planner.
- 7 days before the meeting, send out a meeting reminder
- Purchase supplies, including name tags
- 3 days before the meeting, send out a second meeting reminder
- The morning of the meeting, send out a third meeting reminder.
- On the day of the meeting, set up the meeting location.
- Set up stations for activity rotations
During The Meeting
Gathering Activity
Near the entrance to the meeting location, station a greeter to welcome people as they arrive and provide everyone with a name tag and hand out the Get to Know You Bingo sheets to each Cub Scout and adult. Inform them that Cub Scouts get to know other Cub Scouts, and adults get to know other adults.

Good evening everyone, and welcome to our Cub Scout Orientation Night! My name is (name), and I’m proud to be part of Pack (number).
Cub Scouting is all about family, fun, and friendship. It’s a place where kids and parents learn, play, explore, and grow together. We build things, go on adventures, help our community, and celebrate along the way — and we do it as families.
Tonight isn’t about long speeches — it’s about experiencing Cub Scouts. You’ll play games, meet new friends, and get a feel for the fun and teamwork that make this program special.
Whether you’re brand new to Scouting or already part of our Pack, we’re really glad you’re here. Cub Scouts has something for every family — from outdoor adventures and science projects to campouts, Pinewood Derby races, service projects, and pack events where everyone joins in.
Most importantly, tonight is about getting to know each other — because Cub Scouts is more than activities. It’s a community of families.
We’re going to kick things off with a game for everyone — kids and adults — so get ready to move around and have some fun together!
After that, adults will head to a short breakout session to learn more about Cub Scouts and meet other parents. Meanwhile, Scouts will stay here for an awesome game to get to know their new friends. Then we’ll all come back together for one big, high-energy group game.
So get ready to laugh, move, and make some noise, because this isn’t a meeting where you just sit and listen — this is Cub Scouts!

Activity Rotations
Before the activity stations, introduce the guest speaker from a faith-based organization and have them discuss how their organization helps people in the community. Allow Cub Scouts and adults to ask questions. Thank the guest speaker and invite them to stay for the rest of the meeting if they would like.
Set up 3 activity stations, each station is led by an adult who has been given the resources ahead of time to prepare for the activity or activities. Cub Scouts rotate to each station either by den or mulit-rank dens. Each station has an activity for each Cub Scout rank.

Wow — what a great night! Thank you all for joining us and being part of the fun. I hope you got a taste of what Cub Scouting is all about — learning by doing, laughing together, and growing as families and friends.
In Cub Scouts, every game, project, and adventure helps our Scouts discover something new about the world, teamwork, and themselves. And the best part is that we do it together.
If you enjoyed tonight, just imagine what the year ahead can bring — campouts, Pinewood Derby races, hikes, service projects, and pack events where the whole family is part of the adventure.
