Before the meeting:
- Print 1 race day promise per Cub Scout
During the meeting:
- Gather Cub Scouts and discuss with them what good sportsmanship looks like.
- Ask Cub Scouts to help brainstorm some fun cheers that would encourage their friends during the race.
- Ask Cub Scouts to think of ways they can be kind to their fellow Cub Scouts before, during, and after the race.
- Ask Cub Scouts to give examples of what they could say to demonstrate good sportsmanship during a competitive race.
- Tell Cub Scouts that we are making a Race Day Promise. They will fill out the Race Day Promise with their adult partner. They will need to answer the following questions
- We will cheer by: ______
- We will be kind by: ______
- We will say: ______
Cub Scouts can draw pictures instead of writing if needed.
