  • Bobcat adventure loops/pins- 1 per Cub Scout

Set-Up:

Gather Cub Scouts and families, and have Adventure recognition ready to present.

Before the Ceremony
  1. Purchase tea lights.  Color the “flame” part according to the rank of the Cub Scout being awarded their Bobcat adventure: Lion (yellow), Tiger (orange), Wolf (red), Bear (blue), Webelos (green), AOL (purple).
  2. Verify that all of the lights work.

During the Ceremony
  1. Cubmaster, standing in front of the group: “We have some Cub Scouts who have been working very hard to begin their new rank trail. Will the (appropriate rank) and their parent/guardian or adult partner please come forward.”
  2.  When they come forward, have an adult leader distribute the appropriate colored lights to the parent/guardian or adult partner (Lion (yellow), Tiger (orange), Wolf (red), Bear (blue), Webelos (green), AOL (purple)
  3. When all the ranks are on the stage together, Cubmaster: “Cub Scouts, you have earned your Bobcat Adventure. It is now my pleasure to pass to you the spirit of Cub Scouting. Before I pass it to you, please join me in saying the Cub Scout motto”
  4. After the Cub Scout motto, turn the lights off.  Cubmaster: “Adults, please turn on your light and present the light to your Cub Scout.”
  5. Cubmaster: “Cub Scouts, this very special light is powered by Cub Scout spirit.” 
  6. Cubmaster: “Congratulations Cub Scouts! The Cub Scout spirit has been passed to you, and you have earned your Bobcat Adventure. Will the audience please give our families a round of applause.”
  7. Distribute Bobcat belt loops and activity pins. Cub Scouts keep their tea light and return to their seat.
