Before the meeting: 

  1. Contact a local firehouse or EMS and schedule a visit.  
  2. Contact parents or legal guardians to give them the details of the visit.
  3. Gather copies of the Scouting America Annual Health and Medical Record on each participant (youth and adult)
  4. Review Annual Health and Medical Records for any restrictions that may impact participation

During the meeting: 

  1. Bring copies of the Scouting America Annual Health and Medical Record on each participant (youth and adult)
  2. Gather Cub Scouts outside the meeting space. 
  3. Encourage Cub Scouts to ask questions. Remind them to be respectful during the presentation. 
  4. Ask the first responders to explain first aid for the following: 
    • Sunburn 
    • Sprained ankle 
    • Dehydration 
    • Foot blisters 

After the meeting: 

  1. Write a thank you note to the organization and send it.
