  • 1 yo-yo per Cub Scout

Before the meeting:

  1. Gather supplies.
  2. Use the tutorial video on the Yo-Yo Preview Adventure website  and the video How to be a Yo-Yo Ninja: Getting Started, (1:36 minutes)
  3. Set up meeting space with room for Cub Scouts to use their yo-yo.

During the meeting:

  1. Have each Cub Scout stand in the middle of the circle made during the Yo-Yo Be Safe activity and with the yo-yo properly attached to their middle finger.
  2. Keep the yo-yo in the opposite hand.
  3. Extend the index finger to cover the gap.
  4. With the string hand, wind the string over the index finger and around the yo-yo once.
  5. Withdraw the index finger from covering the gap and continue winding with a couple of wraps.
  6. Remove the index finger from the string and continue winding the remaining string around the yo-yo.
  7. Make sure that the string is coming from over the top of the yo-yo when it is completely wound and still in the hand.
