Position: Senior Maintenance Technician
Position location: Glen Jean, West Virginia (WV)
Position Overview

The Summit is looking for an experienced Senior Maintenance Technician to join our team.  The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining facilities and associated plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and building systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations throughout The Summit Bechtel Reserve. This position performs advanced maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of buildings, equipment, infrastructure, and grounds while supporting a high standard of facility appearance and functionality. This position reports to the Supervisor of Buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment and facilities. Adds and replaces electrical, mechanical, and other equipment.
  • Ensures that the appropriate permits, regulations, licenses, and certifications are maintained.
  • May provide guidance and training to staff, contractors, and seasonal staff.
  • Provides office moves, space reconfigurations, and construction.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
Competencies

Knowledge of:  Installation, maintenance and repair methods relating to commercial building support systems; electrical codes applicable to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical circuits and wiring systems; software and hardware applications of PC-based energy management systems, intrusion alarm systems, fire alarm systems, and lighting systems; OSHA regulations.

Skill in: Conducting simple mathematical calculations; communicating effectively both verbally and in writing; driving a light truck; reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings; following safety procedures and practices; troubleshooting and repairing equipment issues.

Ability to: Lead teams, make operational decisions, and maintain safety awareness.

Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalency.

Qualifications
  • 4 years of experience in commercial electrical, carpentry, or plumbing, including four years of experience in commercial building maintenance.
  • Additional certifications may be required in specialized skills or trades.
  • Must pass a criminal history background check.

*Any work-related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above-specified education and experience requirements.

Licenses
  • Valid state driver’s license required.

 

Preference
  • Licensed electrician, carpentry, and/or BOMA certification preferred.
