Visual Merchandiser

Position: Visual Merchandiser
Position location: Charlotte, North Carolina (NC)
Position Overview

To ensure consistent customer appealing display of merchandise that supports merchandising strategies in promoting sales growth within stores. Responsible for all aspects of the visual merchandising function of existing stores, new stores and exhibit booths. Provides the merchandise layout and schematics for each of these areas, managing all aspects of the process. Develops merchandise displays and/or display solutions for new and existing products. Train field personnel on visual merchandising and product placement. Establishes operating budgets and sales projections for projects. Assists with distributorships and merchandise planning.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares all Visual Merchandising displays and display solutions for existing stores, new stores and exhibit booths.
  • Manage all aspects of Visual merchandising processes from inception to execution.
  • Develops and provides analysis on operational budgets and sales projections.
  • Develops and manages relationships with councils and distributors.
  • Provides training and guidance to stores on inventory management, distributorship management, visual merchandising, marketing methods, and sales techniques to move products.
  • Participates in the planning and development of new stores, exhibit booths and other special projects ensuring that layout, construction, and product presentation meets standards and deadlines.
Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in visual merchandising, sales, and marketing techniques, demographics, budget development, purchasing, inventory control, and systems.
  • Working knowledge of merchandising, drafting, plan layouts, schematics, and the ability to work with blueprints is also required.
  • Previous experience working with a space planning system and AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of visual merchandising, sales, and marketing techniques, demographics, budget development, purchasing, inventory control, and systems is required.
  • Working knowledge of merchandising, drafting, plan layouts, schematics, and the ability to work with blueprints is also required.
  • Previous experience working with a space planning system and AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Process and project management skills.
  • Solid working knowledge of space planning tools: JDA Space Planning Software, and JDA MMS experience.
