Position: Food Service Assistant
Position location: Cimarron, New Mexico (NM)
Position Overview

Scouting America’s Philmont Scout Ranch is looking for  friendly, outgoing Food Service assistant to join our amazing team.  This position provides quality and nutritional food service in support of Scouting America programs. The Food Service assistant prepares and/or cooks food according to instructions; performs general food service tasks such as working serving lines, sanitation duties, and/or preparing food other than for regular cooking. You will follow all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service. This person gives leadership to seasonal employees.  The Food Service assistant reports to the Supervisor of Logistics Support.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares, cooks, serves, and provides distribution of food.
  • May supervise seasonal staff.
  • Maintains health and safety standards.
  • Assists in menu planning and ordering food supplies.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Education
  • No minimum requirement.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience in food service.
  • Must pass a criminal history background check.
Licenses

Food handler’s certification must be obtained within seven (7) days of entry into position.
